We are looking for a Technical Office Engineer with a background in Civil Engineering or Architecture to support the technical and procurement operations of our international construction projects.

Job Summary;

This role combines classical technical office responsibilities with hands-on involvement in procurement-focused engineering. The selected candidate will prepare and manage design-based documentation (BOQs, specifications, take-offs), while also taking an active role in evaluating suppliers, preparing procurement packages, and conducting technical and budget comparisons to support commercial decisions.

You will act as a key link between the engineering, procurement, and site execution teams — ensuring that materials and subcontractor scopes are technically accurate, cost-effective, and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Engineering Tasks

  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material take-offs, and technical documentation based on project drawings and design packages.
  • Review and update technical specifications for construction activities, materials, and systems in accordance with local regulations and client standards.
  • Support site execution teams by clarifying design details, verifying quantities, and tracking as-built data against project milestones.
  • Coordinate with the design and planning teams to ensure constructability and early identification of conflicts or risks in design.
  • Develop technical content for procurement packages, including scope breakdowns, specification sheets, and BOQ-based comparison templates.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of supplier and subcontractor quotations, including conformity checks against project specs.
  • Collaborate with the procurement department to assist in cost benchmarking, bid tabulations, and identification of best-value offers.
  • Provide input on supplier prequalification and participate in clarifications, negotiations, and quality checks where technical input is required.
  • Follow up with vendors and the logistics team to monitor delivery timelines, material compliance, and on-site readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture (Master’s degree is an advantage).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical office or procurement engineering role within the construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, construction methods, and materials.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and general office tools; knowledge of Revit/BIM or procurement systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with European construction standards and documentation practices.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); other European languages are considered an asset.
  • Open to relocation or extended assignments in one of our project countries.

Key Competencies

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination ability across technical and commercial teams.
  • Comfortable interacting with various stakeholders and capable of building trust and influencing decisions.
  • A people-oriented mindset with the ability to engage, explain, and persuade effectively — both on-site and in supplier negotiations.
  • Capable of handling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable.
